Riga Fundraising Education and Pitch Training seminar, September 13, 2013 September 9, 2013

On September 13th Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in co-operation with the international non-for-profit organization Seed Forum Latvia organizes Fundraising Education and Pitch Training seminar - “How to acquire financing from private financial investors and how to present them one’s own business ideas”.

The Seed Forum education seminar is aimed at fast growing enterprises with cross-border perspectives which search financial investors for swift realization of their development plans. At the same time, the Seed Forum seminar provides full comprehension on financial involvement of investment process and mechanisms, on investors and their intentions, on business development strategy, on the enterprise valuation and sales strategy.

SF education seminar is very intensive education/ training program for entrepreneurs, where experienced professors and venture capitalists from Scandinavia and Latvia provide answers on issues like:

-What is the benefit (and risk) of private financing investors?

-How to find private financial investors and how to present them your business ideas?

-What are the private investors looking for and what are the major factors of increase of enterprise value?

-How to build the financial development strategy of enterprise?

-What the process of investment (the phases and the documentation) consists of?

-What should you be aware of when meeting/negotiating with potential financial investors?

-How not to sell the company too cheap?

During the training seminar, entrepreneurs are not only given a theoretical lecture course, but they also intensively participate in the individual training programme, during which the practical business plan presentation skills and company presentation itself is prepared.

Depending on the seminar results and selection process some companies will be invited for participation in Seed Forum International Investor conference in Latvia and/or other 22 countries, in which the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to present their investment projects for international venture capital investors – venture capital investment funds, private financial investors and business angels.

One of the Seed Forum experts, Board member of Seed Forum Central Eastern Europe department, former manager of Trigon Holdings funds in Latvia and an entrepreneur Gints Vins: “There are no educational establishments in the World that provide such an intense educational course on venture capital involvement methods and techniques, not even any MBA program. This is an exclusive education course based on personal experience and recent developments in financial industry of venture capital which has been created by business professors of the leading European business schools in close co-operation with Seed Forum. In Europe similar educational programs cost many thousands of Euros, but in the Baltic region, due to EU structural funds project CBR “Home Market” this year training for entrepreneurs is available for free. I recommend this Fundraising Education seminar not only for new and fast growing Technology companies but also for already well established companies with an excising cash-flows looking for an additional private funding in all branches and industries. In seminar entrepreneurs acquire knowledge of international investment markets and develop a certain level of investment readiness, learn business ethics and specific traits of entrepreneurship in other countries.

The Fundraising education seminar is organized together with Latvian investment and Development Agency and will take place in Riga at LIAA Premises. Seminars like this are planned also in the future, twice a year and the most successful participants of the seminars will be invited to the Seed Forum International Investment conferences - in Latvia as well as in more than 20 other countries.
